The DJs: Personable, never tacky

Since our founding in 1989, BIG FUN Disc Jockeys has operated exclusively with friendly, non‑tacky DJs. We are all experienced professionals that provide guidance without being bossy, MC services without being talkative, and a memorable party without being cliché.

Stefano Bortolin

Born and raised on the Peninsula, Stefano’s knowledge of the local scene is vast. In addition to working events and parties with BIG FUN, he leverages his charismatic personality as a volunteer auctioneer and MC at local school fund raisers. When not DJ’ing (or working his day job as a sales manager), Stefano enjoys spending time with his family, coaching youth sports, and enjoying a glass of good wine. He attended St. Francis High School, College of San Mateo, and completed 4 years service in the U.S. Air Force.

Paul Burchfield

An East Bay native and San José State University graduate, Paul grew up playing the trumpet. More recently, he’s been working on learning the guitar. When his daughter was young, he learned tap dancing with her, so they would have a shared interest. Soon thereafter, he began editing and remixing music for the local dance studio and working as a DJ with BIG FUN. Outside of work and DJ’ing, Paul loves to cook (we hear his homemade beef jerky is excellent). A fun fact about Paul: he once appeared in a special on The History Channel.

Henry S. Kim

Henry’s previous career as a web application developer included 16 years at Apple and 8 years at National Semiconductor, Synopsys, and others. As a DJ, he brings skills at beat matching and live mixing. Henry is married with two kids. Remarkably, he can play the saxophone, keyboards, violin, trumpet, drums, and probably some other instruments we don’t know about. Henry has also done theatrical sound design for TheatreWorks and Mountain View’s Center for Performing Arts. He’s a graduate of Stanford University in Electrical Engineering.

Woody Miraglia

With a huge personal music collection, Woody’s background includes running a music store and acting in musical theater. When he isn’t DJ’ing or working his day job at a small investment capital company, he can be found teeing it up on Bay Area golf courses or navigating technical singletrack on his mountain bike. Woody is also BIG FUN’s music librarian, and he’s always looking out for the next big song or remix to put in our collection. He graduated with degrees in Economics and Communication from Stanford University.

Felipe Silva

Born in New York and raised in Brazil, Felipe spends his weekdays as a mobile app developer, most recently in the field of cyber security. Felipe’s musical background extends beyond his love of DJing. He is a multi-instrumentalist that played guitar in church and other bands. Before majoring in Technology, he started college in Music. As a teen, he was a competitive amateur dancer in break dancing, ballet, and jazz. These days in his free time, Felipe participates in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (he’s a blue belt) and loves being the family cook.
